My high school newspaper, where I was editor. I built and shipped its website in 2023. It is still running, now published by students two years behind me.
- — Owned the whole stack: WordPress on an AWS Lightsail instance, S3 for media, and a domain I registered and configured.
- — Wrote a custom Gutenberg block theme rather than buying one off the shelf.
- — Automated staff onboarding — the school roster export imports straight into WordPress accounts, replacing manual account creation each year.
- — Set up automatic snapshots and wrote a runbook of known failure modes, so a non-developer can bring the site back without me.
- — Secured recurring funding from the school, so hosting outlives any one student editor.
